# Trials

> How the free trial of paid plans works, what it includes and what happens when it ends.

Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial with managed AI, capped at 300 conversations.

## Direct billing [#direct]

* The trial is on Growth (monthly) and does not need a card.
* One trial per store domain and per account.
* **Start paid plan now** ends the trial early; you need a payment method on file.
* **At the end:** with a payment method, the plan starts and the first invoice is issued. Without one, the subscription is paused, managed AI stops and you can add a card or continue on Free with your own key. A paused subscription is cancelled after 30 days.

You get an email 3 days before the trial ends.

## Shopify App Store [#shopify]

Every paid plan has a 14-day trial, chosen on Shopify's pricing page. Shopify remembers used trial days across reinstalls for 180 days.

## Trial cap [#cap]

When the trial reaches its conversation cap, managed AI pauses until the trial ends or the paid plan starts. You get emails at 80 % and 100 % of the cap. With your own AI key the assistant keeps working.

## What shoppers see [#shoppers]

Shoppers never see billing messages. When managed AI is unavailable, the widget becomes a contact form or offers a handoff to your team.
