# Topics and competitors

> Keep the assistant on shopping topics, block topics you don't want discussed, and decide how it handles competitors.

## Topic mode [#topic-mode]

| Mode                    | Behaviour                                                                                                                         |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Commerce only (default) | Helps with shopping at your store: products, orders, delivery, returns and store information. Other topics are politely declined. |
| Commerce and general    | May answer short general questions but stays focused on shopping.                                                                 |

## Blocked topics [#blocked]

Add up to 50 topics (≤ 80 characters each) the assistant must not discuss, for example "medical advice" or "politics". When asked, it says it can't help with that here and offers what it can do.

## Competitors [#competitors]

List up to 100 competitor names and choose the behaviour:

* **Neutral:** if asked, the assistant says it only knows your products and makes no claims about the competitor.
* **Deflect:** the assistant doesn't name or discuss them; replies that mention them are corrected before they are shown.
