*(Starter and up)*

Slack is a notification target: it tells your team that a handoff happened but is never offered to the shopper. Pair it with the live inbox or an offline target.

## Set up [#setup]

1. In Slack, create an **incoming webhook** for the channel you want (Slack app settings → Incoming Webhooks). The URL starts with `https://hooks.slack.com/services/`.
2. In ShopAssist, open **Handoff → Integrations → Slack**, paste the URL and give the channel a label.
3. Add **Slack** to your targets and click **Send test**.

The webhook URL is stored encrypted and never shown again. Changing it requires you to sign in again.

## The message [#message]

Each notification contains the reason, the shopper's name, a **masked** email, the identity line, a short summary (up to 500 characters) and an **Open in ShopAssist** button. The transcript is never posted to Slack.
