# Verify your installation

> A checklist to confirm the widget, catalog, AI and identity work on your storefront, and the most common failures with their fixes.

## Checklist [#checklist]

### The store is connected

The store overview shows the status **Active** (or **Syncing** during the first sync). Plugin stores also show the plugin version.

### The catalog is synced

**Catalog → Sync** shows a successful run and a product count that matches your store. Open **Catalog → Search preview** and search for a product the way a shopper would ([search preview](/docs/catalog/search-preview)).

### The AI answers

Send a test message in the playground. Ask about a product, its stock in a store and a policy.

### The widget appears on the storefront

Open your store in a private window. The launcher appears in the corner you chose. The store overview shows "Widget seen on your store" within a few minutes of the first page view.

### Allowed domains are complete

Generic stores: every domain that serves your storefront is listed under **Widget → Install & domains** (including `www` and country domains). Plugin stores get their domains from the platform.

### Signed-in customers are recognised

Sign in on your store as a test customer with an order, open the chat and ask "where is my order?". The assistant answers without asking for the order number. See [signed-in customers](/docs/troubleshooting/signed-in-customers) if it doesn't.

### Nothing is stored before the chat opens

In your browser's developer tools (**Application → Storage**), the page has no `shopassist:` keys until you open the chat. Opening it writes only the strictly necessary keys listed in the [storage disclosure](/docs/widget/storage-disclosure).
