# Policies and pages

> How shipping, returns, privacy and other policies and content pages are imported from each platform and kept up to date.

ShopAssist imports your store's policies and content pages automatically on connect and refreshes them every 6 hours.

## Policy changes need your approval [#policy-changes]

When a policy changes, the approved version stays live and the new text waits in the [review queue](/docs/knowledge-base/review-queue) with a diff. Approve it to switch over. This protects you from a broken page or a wrong edit becoming the assistant's answer.

Platform policies are approved automatically the first time they are imported.

## Your privacy policy URL [#privacy-policy]

The widget links your privacy policy in its footer and consent forms. ShopAssist takes it from your platform; set it manually in **Settings → Store** if it is missing ([`privacy_policy_missing`](/docs/troubleshooting/sync-issues#privacy_policy_missing)).
