# PrestaShop identity

> How the PrestaShop module recognises signed-in customers per shop, and how guest accounts are handled.

The widget calls the module's identity controller (`/module/shopassist/identity`) with PrestaShop's static token, read at call time because it changes on login and logout. The module returns a token for the signed-in customer of the connected shop.

* Guest checkout accounts (`is_guest`) get no token; they use [guest order lookup](/docs/orders-and-identity/guest-order-lookup).
* With multistore, only orders of the connected shop are shown, even when a shop group shares customers or orders.
