# Appearance

> Colours, position, launcher style, theme and branding of the chat widget, previewed live before you publish.

**Widget → Appearance** is draft-based. The preview on the right shows your storefront mock-up with the draft settings; publish to apply them.

## Powered by ShopAssist [#powered-by]

On the Free plan, a small "Powered by ShopAssist" link is shown and can't be removed (Shopify stores show a small icon instead). Paid plans can hide it. While the assistant is unavailable because of a plan limit, the attribution is hidden.

## Shopify theme overrides [#shopify]

The Shopify app embed has two optional theme settings: launcher position and accent colour. Leave them on **Use app setting** to manage the look in ShopAssist.

## Preview [#preview]

Toggle mobile and desktop, home, product and cart pages, languages and light or dark mode. The preview runs the real widget on a separate preview origin with a test key: it is never billed and writes nothing to storage.
