Cart and checkout
Attribution
How orders are linked to conversations: items added by the assistant, checkout links, and assisted sessions with analytics consent.
ShopAssist links platform orders to conversations to show the revenue the assistant helped with.
| Type | When | Consent |
|---|---|---|
bot_add_to_cart | The order contains items the assistant added to the cart | Not needed (the shopper asked for it) |
bot_checkout_link | The shopper used a checkout link from the chat | Not needed |
assisted_session | An order within the attribution window after a conversation | Analytics consent |
The attribution window is 7 days by default; plans with a custom window allow 1–30 days (Orders & actions → Attribution).
Per platform
- Shopify: a private cart attribute and the cart token on
orders/create. - Magento 2, WooCommerce, PrestaShop: the plugin records the conversation on the quote or cart and reports placed orders.
- Generic: store
{conversation_id}from the checkout template orlinkConversation()on the order and report it withorders:report, or callShopAssist.track("order.completed", …)on your thank-you page.
Order status and personal data are never part of attribution. See assisted revenue and attribution for how it's reported.
