Multi-location stock
How the assistant answers "is it in stock in my store?" from stock per location, per platform, and how freshness and disclosure rules apply.
When stock is known per store or warehouse, the assistant can answer questions like "Do you have this in size 42 in Aarhus?" with a store availability card: the stores that have it, their opening hours today and how fresh the information is.
Where stock per location comes from
- Shopify: native
- Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce: Magento MSI
- WooCommerce: stock-locations plugin
- PrestaShop: module hook or feed
- Any store (Generic: script tag, Push API, feeds): feed or Push API
| Platform | Source | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | Shopify locations, natively | Shopify |
| Magento 2 | MSI sources, with the inventory module | Magento 2 |
| WooCommerce | Stock Locations for WooCommerce, meta mapping, a feed or CSV | WooCommerce |
| PrestaShop | The actionShopAssistLocationStock hook or a location stock feed | PrestaShop |
| Generic | The Push API, a local inventory feed or CSV | Generic |
Without a source, the assistant tells shoppers it doesn't know the stock in a specific store and offers online availability instead.
Freshness
Before the assistant states stock for a store, it checks the age of the stored level. If exact quantities are shown and the level is older than two minutes (fifteen minutes for "in stock / few left" labels), ShopAssist reads it live from your platform where the platform supports that. Every availability card shows when the information was last updated.
What shoppers see
You decide whether shoppers see exact quantities, levels only ("in stock", "few left", "out of stock") or nothing per store; see stock disclosure. Only locations marked Visible to shoppers in Catalog → Locations are mentioned.
Stock per location is included on every plan.
