Changing plans
How upgrades, downgrades and interval changes take effect and how they are prorated.
Owners change plans under Billing → Change plan. You always see a preview of the price and the date of the change before confirming.
Open billing & usageUpgrades
A higher plan, or monthly to yearly on the same plan, takes effect immediately. You are charged the prorated difference for the rest of the period; a yearly upgrade credits the unused part of the year.
Downgrades
A lower plan, or yearly to monthly, takes effect at the end of the current period. Until then you keep your current plan. You can undo a scheduled downgrade before it takes effect.
If the lower plan has smaller limits (stores, seats, products, knowledge pages), ShopAssist tells you what will change before you confirm. Nothing is deleted: features above the new plan are switched off and data stays until you upgrade again or delete it.
Restrictions
- While a payment is overdue, you can only downgrade or cancel.
- Enterprise plans are changed by COEC; contact sales.
- The currency is fixed after your first subscription or invoice.
- Shopify App Store installs change plans on Shopify's pricing page; see Shopify billing.
