Find something like this photo

Shoppers upload a photo. A vision-capable model describes it and ShopAssist searches your catalog for similar products.

The problem

Shoppers see a jacket on the street or a lamp in a magazine and cannot describe it well enough for a search box.

How it works

  1. The shopper uploads a photo

From the photo button in the chat window.
  2. The model describes it

A vision-capable model turns the photo into a description: type, colour, material, style.

  3. Catalog search

ShopAssist searches your catalog with that description and shows the closest products as cards.

Image limits and deletion

  • Up to 5 MB per image and 3 images per conversation.
  • Images are resized to at most 1024 pixels and EXIF data such as location is removed.
  • Images are deleted after 24 hours.

Visual search is switched off automatically when the store's AI model fails the vision test.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the photos?

Images are resized, stripped of location and camera data, and deleted after 24 hours.

Does visual search work with my own AI key?

Yes, if your model supports images. ShopAssist tests the model when you connect it and turns visual search off automatically if the test fails.
